Jon was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969 as an All-American offensive tackle from Oklahoma State. He played 13 seasons for the Steelers and helped them to win 4 Super Bowl titles. He was widely regarded as one of the strongest men in the NFL, using his strength to protect Terry Bradshaw’s blind side, open lanes for running backs Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier, and even place in the World’s Strongest Man competitions. He is currently a physical therapist working with patients who have serious disabilities including ALS. In addition to his involvement in men’s ministry, he is also a college professor, a high school football coach, and a sports performance coach to many area athletes.
